We are excited to shine the spotlight on Alpha Rentals and share the story behind their business, their journey as entrepreneurs, and the vision they have for the future.
When and why did you start your business?
We started Alpha Rentals in October 2019. My husband and I had a one-year-old at the time, and we began thinking about what we were doing and whether it was really what we wanted for our future. We both had the experience and knowledge to go out on our own, and we wanted to build something that would help secure the future of our family and our child. Our previous partnership wasn’t working out, so we decided to take the leap and build something of our own.
What makes your Alpha Rentals unique? What are your proudest moments within your business?
One of the things that makes Alpha Rentals unique is the personal aspect we bring to our business. There are other companies that do what we do, but we choose to treat our business and our customers like family.
We don’t look at our customers or our business simply as a dollar sign. We look at them as part of our future.
One of our proudest accomplishments was building our own shop on our property in Midland in March of last year. Before that, we were working out of warehouses that were shared with other businesses. Now, we finally have a place that is truly ours—the home of Alpha Rentals.
What advice would you give to other new business owners?
If you’re thinking about starting a business and you can’t stop thinking about it, maybe it’s something you’re meant to do. Sometimes you just have to make the leap.
If you wait too long, you could miss out on the opportunity to experience the growth and success that can come from taking that chance.
When we first started Alpha Rentals, we were unemployed and didn’t have a fallback plan. We were scared, we were broke, and we didn’t know what the future would hold. But we gave it everything we had. Looking back, if we hadn’t taken that leap and stuck with it, we would have missed out on everything we’ve been able to build.
We aren’t originally from Midland, but we come from a small town, so we really appreciate that small-town sense of community.
Back home, we were very involved in the school system, and we wanted to bring that same spirit of involvement with us. We decided to get plugged into the school system and look for ways to pour into the next generation.
It’s been a great way for us to become more involved in the community and give back.
What is the next step you want to take in your business?
We’ve had a lot of discussions about growth. We don’t want to become stale, so we’re always looking at ways to continue moving forward.
We’re currently considering offering recertifications and rebuilds, as well as adding new rental products. One of those new products is already in the works.
We’re excited about continuing to grow and finding new ways to serve our customers.
What was your biggest challenge with your business before meeting Paige Financial Services?
One of our biggest challenges was cash flow and being able to build as quickly as we were growing.
The business grew very quickly, and we had to figure out how to keep up with that growth in the moment. This can be especially challenging in the oilfield industry, where there can be significant highs and lows.
Managing that growth while keeping everything moving forward was a major challenge for us.
How did you find help through our business?
We’ve been helped tremendously. Paige Financial Services has been with us since the very beginning of our business.
Jeff has also gotten to know me personally. I’m not always the easiest person to deal with, and I’m not particularly savvy when it comes to accounting or taxes, but Jeff has always been patient with me.
They took that burden off our shoulders and allowed us to focus on growing our business. I know that I can reach out when I have questions, and it gets taken care of.
